Mapping Potential

Making invisible patterns visible to drive better decisions.

I'm Andrew Komaromy. I lead product management for enterprise analytics software as VP of Software Product Management at Environics Analytics. Separately, I'm building Mapping Potential — my own platform for writing and speaking about AI, product, and geography.

My day job · Environics Analytics

I'm Vice President of Software Product Management at Environics Analytics, where I lead product management for enterprise analytics software. My teams build the tools organisations use to understand consumers, markets, and places. This is my executive role, and it's where most of my week goes.

My own platform · Mapping Potential

Mapping Potential is separate from my day job. It's my personal platform for writing, video, and speaking about AI, product, and geography — a place to think out loud about how location, data, and behaviour reveal patterns worth acting on. Advisory work grows out of it when the fit is right, but the writing comes first.

Career Journey

From developer to product leader.

My work has always sat between disciplines. Engineering taught me how things get built; geography and analytics taught me how to see patterns in how people behave. Here are the decisions that shaped the path.

Vice President of Software Product Management

Environics Analytics

I lead product management for enterprise analytics software: what we build, who it is for, and why it matters. The work pulls together everything before it — engineering, analytics, geography, business strategy, and now AI.

Building Mapping Potential

My own platform for writing and speaking

Separate from my day job, I write essays, record video, and speak about AI, product, and spatial thinking. It is where I work out my own ideas in public, and advisory work grows out of it when the fit is right.

Along the wayThe pull toward geography

Geography and spatial analysis

Learning to see patterns

I studied geography and spatial analysis because I was curious about something specific: how location, data, and human behaviour combine to reveal patterns that are not obvious at first glance. It changed how I look at every problem since.

Mid careerThe shift

From writing code to choosing what gets built

Into product

At some point I realised my biggest contribution was not the software I wrote. It was deciding which problems were worth solving and helping teams build the right thing. That decision moved me into product.

Early careerStart

Software developer

Where it began

I started as a developer because I liked building systems and solving technical problems. That hands-on background still shapes how I work with engineering teams today.

Where Consulting Fits

Topics I work on with teams.

If the ideas above are useful to you, these are the areas where I take on a limited amount of advisory and speaking work. Each engagement starts with a conversation about the actual problem.

01

AI Strategy & Transformation

Identify where AI creates real business value, prioritise the workflows worth automating, and integrate practical models into products and decisions.

02

Product Strategy & Leadership

Vision, customer discovery, roadmap design, prioritisation, and the operating models that let a product organisation move with confidence.

03

Consumer & Market Intelligence

Demographics, segmentation, mobility, and analytics translated into a clear picture of the customer and the competitive landscape.

04

Data & Analytics Strategy

Turn raw data lakes into decision support engines and analytics products that meaningfully change how the business operates.

05

Location Intelligence & Spatial Analytics

Geographic thinking applied to site selection, territory planning, customer acquisition, and long horizon investment decisions.

06

Keynote Speaking & Executive Workshops

Engaging keynotes and interactive workshops on AI, product management, consumer intelligence, and the future of technology.

Advisory and speaking
I take on a small number of advisory and speaking engagements alongside my role at Environics Analytics, usually with teams building technology, data, or AI products.
